When you receive your set, your box will include a strip of paper gummed tape so that you can reseal the packaging box when you're ready to return it. Email us at Info@TheBorrowedBrick.com when you're ready to send the set back to us, and we will issue your digital return label.
You're right, we are. But that doesn't mean you're not getting value for money...When you read reviews of other borrowing services, customers' pain points are clear:1. It's not clear that you have to pay extra beyond the monthly fee for shipping, and 2. Subscribers have to borrow low value sets that they don't want before they can borrow the larger sets that are then not in stock. We strive for transparency, which is why the monthly fee is the only fee you pay for the right to borrow our sets. Other borrowing services charge extra for postage (often around £5), whereas we build that into our monthly fee. If you rent 2 or 3 sets in a month, that would already add £15 to your monthly cost to borrow Lego. With us, the more you borrow in a month, the more value you get!We also do not stock low value sets and don't require a 'trial period' before you access our premium sets. The average RRP of our collection is >£200, whereas at other borrowing services the average RRP is <£100. We want to provide the sets that LEGO lovers really want from day 1 and have strong availability, which naturally comes at a cost.
We check and clean every set when they are returned to us, however, we can't guarantee each set has 100% of pieces as sometimes those pesky smaller studs get the better of us and go astray. But we do strive to maintain our library with 99% piece completeness, including 100% completeness of rare and minifig pieces. That means on a 1,000 piece set, you will not be missing more than 10 pieces. As you build your set, if you cannot locate a piece, note it down and carry on with your build (hopefully the missing piece doesn't affect the build) as sometimes they are hidden amongst the thousands of pieces in the set. If, as you get towards the end of the build you cannot find the missing pieces, email: info@TheBorrowedBrick.com and include the unique number(s) of the missing brick(s) - found on the last page of the instruction manual. Including any pictures may also help us identify the missing piece, if possible!
You can choose for us to send the replacement pieces straight to your door, or if the build isn’t affected, we’ll add them to the set once you've returned the set.
We understand, some of those LEGO® pieces are small, the odd piece will go missing now and then! But, if you are aware of the pieces you lost, please let us know. Our Apprentice plan provides you cover of up to 5 grams per set and our Wizard plan provides you with cover up to 10 grams (excluding rarer pieces and minifigs).
We always check sets on return. If you send a set back with missing pieces over 5 grams or 10 grams (depending on your plan), or the lost LEGO® piece is rarer i.e a minifig, you will be charged. The charge will be the higher of a flat fee of £10 or the cost to replace the pieces plus a £5 admin fee. As soon as this balance is settled, you can borrow a new set.
